Our Brass Shim stock is sold in roll and sheet form. It is a very thin material that has a good combination of form-ability and work-ability. In general it is not very machinable however it can be cut out or die stamped. Shims are generally fabricated pieces that can be inserted between different objects for a variety of uses, which include leveling, support, insulation or sealing. Shims are often used to fill gaps between machine parts that can easily wear. This helps to avoid lost production time or costly replacement.
